Checkthrough Brief

The patent-pending Checkthrough® Bag looks and functions like a high-end business case, but is designed and rigorously-tested to be "checkpoint-friendly," so you can run it through airport x-ray screening without removing your computer.*

The checkpoint friendly bag opens and hinges in the middle to separate and isolate the laptop compartment from the rest of the bag. For initial, immediate visual reference, the laptop can be seen by the inspector through a clear, quick-recognition window that is exposed when the bag is unfolded. With the window facing up, the bag is sent through x-ray screening. The design of the laptop compartment is such that the image presented to the screener is the same as if the laptop were removed and placed in a bin. The Checkthrough bag and all of its contents can be carried securely with or without the hinge zipped shut, so it can be readied in line, prior to screening. Once through, the traveler can simply pick up the bag and go, zipping it back up on the move or at the gate.

It is the user's responsibility to make sure any checkpoint-friendly bag is packed and used as specified. In all instances, screening personnel always have the right to require laptop removal, secondary screening, or any other measures deemed necessary to ensure travel security.

After doing some research on existing Checkpoint Friendly cases, I came across the Skooba Design Chechthrough Laptop bag. It was just what I was looking for; not too small, not too bulky. A ‘Goldilocks’, just right size. The video on your website really helped me make the decision to buy it. Its design is well planned and the compartments are versatile, useful and convenient.

A few days after I received my new Skooba Checkthrough bag, I had to travel for work, flying through several airports and multiple security screenings. I've put this bag to the test flying all over the world in the past month and it's a pleasure to use. It's well organized to let you see all the inside pockets at once and to hold objects of all sizes, including a DSLR camera. TSA has never hesitated to allow it to pass through, and my computer never needs to see another plastic bin, at least within the US.

I've been sporting this bag for several months now. It is by far the best laptop bag I've ever owned. The bag is absolutely amazing at how much it can carry. I've been able to carry a 17" Macbook Pro, a 15" Asus G1, Canon Digital SLR, Sony HD Camcorder, Sony Point & Shoot camera, Logitech mouse, iPod Touch, iPhone 3GS, all cables and power adapters for above items, several magazines, a couple of books, and much more at one time.
