Skooba Adds New Cable Stable™ Organizer
Rochester, NY, June 20, 2011—Skooba Design has introduced a second version of its popular Cable Stable™ accessory organizer. The new Cable Stable Mini—as the name implies—is a smaller version of the original DLX model, and the latest addition to Skooba’s ever-expanding line of tech-travel carrying cases and accessories. The new organizer is a folio-style case with a dozen interior storage spaces, including neoprene pockets, hold-down straps and elastic loops. It’s designed to carry a basic assortment of power cords, adapters and other small accessories, and zips shut into a compact, (9 x 5.5 x 1.5 inch) “book” that slips easily into a laptop case, messenger bag, backpack or suitcase. And the Cable Stable Mini barely registers on the scale—at a mere 5.6 ounces, it won’t add to the traveler’s burden.
The Cable Stable is a unique accessory storage concept that the company first developed and introduced in 2000. One side of the interior is a grid of elastic hold-down strips. The strips “float” freely under reinforced retention strips, so they can easily stretch and contract to accommodate cords, adapters, and other accessories. On the other side are stretchy neoprene pockets for a phone, camera, or other small device, pen, and business or travel cards. Wasting no space, even the center spine adds to the storage capacity, with loops for batteries and USB thumb drive. The outside of the case has a carrying handle, along with a full-length zipper pocket, perfect for secure storage and quick access to travel documents.
According to Skooba spokesperson Lorri Diggory, “The Cable Stable offers a versatile and efficient alternative to a snake pit in the bottom of a laptop bag, or items stuffed haphazardly into random pockets or pouches.” Diggory says that the demand for this compact and protective organizer has greatly increased with airline baggage constraints, as a traveler can now easily and safely store all of these accessories in one carrier and pack it neatly in a suitcase. Diggory says that customers have come up with many creative high- and low-tech uses for the Cable Stable, including using it as a cosmetic/toiletry kit, office supply caddy, and even a storage case for kids’ travel distractions: “It’s really a versatile, sensible, all-around organizer.”
The company says that the larger Cable Stable DLX has been one of its best-selling products for years, and it developed the new version in response to requests for a smaller, lower-capacity model.
